I bought my home as a new single mom in 2000 because it was affordable housing in Allendale. I raised my two boys here. I have stayed because I love my home and the Pool. The pool is my favorite amenity and it provides an opportunity to connect with neighbors. We need to reinstate the 9am start time for early risers though. I don’t care for the knit picky assessments and constant reminders of how to keep your lawn and the fact that it is done in early spring before we can get to things has never made sense to me. The lot increases in the last few years have been hard on residents. I hope we’ll see a halt to those so we can afford to continue to live here. I think hiring Mike was a positive move because he seems to be a better communicator than we’ve experienced in the past. I hope he will be supported by upper management and given some independence instead of the micro management I have seen in the past. I think one of the things that makes our community special is our opportunities to come together as a group. There needs to be more opportunities to do so. we used to have a euchre night and bingo, which I would like to see reinstated.
