My first experience with A1 United will be my last. I scheduled a service call this morning to have my furnace repaired, they said they had an appmt between 3-6 pm and they would call me when they were on their way. I got a call at 2:35 saying a technician would be there within 30 to 45 minutes, so I left work early to meet them at the house. I waited and waited and waited. No technician. I finally called them at 5:55, and they put me on hold a couple of times while they tried to figure out what went wrong. They finally came back and said, "We're sorry, we have your address but don't show anything scheduled for you. If you want someone out tonight it'll be $165 charge for emergency service." I said What? Are you kidding me?! It was going to be a $90 service call but now, because you screwed up, it's going to cost me $165?? "I'm sorry, Sir." Or, she said, we can have someone out tomorrow for $90. Great, so I can take more time off work tomorrow to wait for you not to show up? No thanks, I'll call someone else.
THE IRONIC THING is...unbelievably....as I was waiting on hold, I'm listening to their advertising spiel, which said "At A1 United, we understand that you don't get a 2nd chance at making a good 1st impression, so we strive to provide the best service....." Unbelievable!!! They're right, they won't get a 2nd chance from me.
