In Raleigh, there is no shortage of contractors who will come out and build you a new garage, rip out an existing bath and put in a new one, completely overhaul a kitchen, or add 3 room to your home. What there IS a shortage of are good quality contractors who are willing to consider small jobs and who will follow through and treat a $500 or $1000 job the same way that they treat a $5000 job. It appears that Andy OnCall (AOC) is out to solve that problem!

I hired Tony from AOC to install two shelf units in my garages, as well as build a workbench in my garage. The shelves consisted of 4 tiers, approx 6' high, bolted to the wall (keeps them up off the garage floor) and painted to match the garage interior. Workbench was approx 10'x 2.5' with a set of 3 drawers on one side and built to allow the attachment of a vise on one end of the bench (extra reinforcements, etc).

Tony came out to do the quote and asked me what I was looking for. Although I had an idea for the shelves, I did not have a clear picture in mind for the bench. He proceeded to give me some suggestions (I had not considered building the drawers in) and even drew some rough sketches to show me what he was thinking. Once we were in synch, I got a price and scheduled the work.

Tony purchased all materials, delivered them, and did the work over a 2 day period. He cleaned up well at the end of the first day and stored his tools in my garage overnight (after asking if that was OK with me). Then the next day when he finished up, he called to ask how I wanted him to handle the leftover wood scraps (I kept them for small projects!) and explained how the invoicing process would work through AOC.

The work was done VERY NICELY. I am happy with the bench (my wife commented that it was almost 'too pretty to use') and more importantly, SHE is happy with the shelves in the garage and how well they 'match' the rest of the garage.

I would recommend AOC for sure. They turned this job around quickly and I am sure that I will have more work for them in coming months.
