Kept My Money For 6 Weeks! *Terrible Service*

I’m writing this review to warn “future customers” about the terrible service experienced at Lipton’s, especially from their owners/management who handled the situation.

On/around Black Friday, I ordered a speaker bar through their website for a great special price. Unfortunately, Lipton’s oversold the item and called me 4-5 days later to say “we can see if we get more in, or else I’ll have to refund you.”

They called back about another week later to say that they couldn’t fulfill the order and would be refunding me, which was disappointing as I could have purchased from another big box store. The big box store even had orders delivered months later vs a refund, so not to loose the sale price.

To make things worse the refund went missing, 3-4 weeks later with no money back to my card. After contacting the store they had me deal with one of the managers (owner I assume) for the refund. I contacted her for the refund and received a prompt initial response. After that, communication took 4-6 days to get a response. From the initial purchase date, it took close to 6 weeks to receive the refund which was over 2 weeks from the request for refund (4 weeks after being told the refund was issued).

To make matters worse, they admitted more stock came in during this time and opted not to fulfill the order despite still having my money - as the refund was still missing. It would have been nice to think they could have fulfilled the original order, instead keeping the stock for people paying more AFTER I had already paid - greed!

It’s hard to believe the “service” Lipton’s provide during a pandemic, when they expect their local community to support small business. In the end, I’m out a speaker that was a gift for someone who really wanted it AND the 30% off deal I can’t get elsewhere, even though they probably have stock in again.

... my advice, go to Best Buy !

It would be good to note: We did in fact reach out to this customer. After explaining the details of the situation, we came to a mutually agreeable solution. We offered this customer an upgrade to a higher model, that he was also interested in. He was offered the upgrade at "dealer cost", and was very happy with that as a solution. In the end, he was quite happy and satisfied with the way it was handled.
