I had searched the internet and asked around for large van rentals during spring break. I needed a van to accommodate 8 passengers and lots of luggage to drive to FL. Value Van and Car Rental had vehicles and a price that beat all others so I traveled from NYC to NJ to get the van. I got the 12 passenger Ford Transit 350. My family was super pleased with the comfort and space. The pickup process had a few “surprises” that were not mentioned on the website. You need to have full coverage car insurance on your personal vehicle (bring your insurance card) because they call your company. If you don’t have the required insurance, there is a $300+ fee. This was confusing but my additional driver paid it because we had no choice at the last minute after driving 2 and 1/2 hours in rush hour traffic. Once again the van was perfect. Upon return, I contacted Kelly at customer service and explained my issue with the insurance fee. The credit card we used always covers the comprehensive insurance. Kelly worked with me and refunded me a percent of the insurance fee as well as the FL toll fee that I prepaid for but never used. This was satisfactory to me. The van return process was done easily through the key drop off. Overall, my experience with Value Van and Car Rental was a good one. I will definitely consider using their services again.
