Don't purchase a transmission here
I purchased a transmission for my 2005 Ford Explorer. This transmission came from Transmission Authority (ETA) and arrived in a reasonable time. I had the transmission installed and when I picked it up the shop stated that it was slow going into reverse. I lived with this for a couple months until the transmission tried to go into reverse and drive at the same time. I called Rockauto which referred me to ETA for the warranty. ETA required me to take it to a shop for diagnostics, which they will not pay for, only for the shop to confirm what I had stated in that the transmission was bad. $1200.00+ later and three weeks elapsed time I had my second transmission installed. One day after getting my vehicle from the shop, the vehicle presented me with a transmission code indicating a shift solenoid was bad. ETA said this is a easy fix and sent the new part out to the shop I was dealing with and close to $400.00 more I had my vehicle back. ETA's warranty states 3 year unlimited miles parts and labor on Rockauto's site however you need to read their warranty to find what it covers. I will never purchase another re-manufactured part from Rockauto again if this is the quality I can expect. I was reimbursed $550.00 out of the $2200.00 labor I paid in installing this transmission multiple times and now I don't trust the vehicle to go too far from home.
