Failure to stand behind product quality

I purchased a A/C 4 Season compressor from the store and after installation, I found out the compressor is defective and a loud bearing noise inside the compressor. I called the store to have the part exchanged since it is still within 30 days and it is defective, they refused to have it exchanged since their vendor is refusing the exchange because I did not purchase the vendor's rest of other parts at the same time. I would understand if A/C system is not working (cooling) which may have something to do with other parts that may be necessary make the A/C cool properly but the compressor unit should not make the loud bearing noise like it does.

RockAuto sold the product as a distributor and not warranting a bad product from a non-reputable vendor is bad for business and I would not order from them since they don't care about their customer.

We are sorry this customer's repair was unsuccessful. Four Seasons -- producer of the A/C compressor he purchased -- is the largest aftermarket mobile climate control parts supplier in the industry and the largest compressor remanufacturer in the world. They are a reputable vendor. But, when a compressor fails, it often floods the A/C system with debris. If certain parts (such as the expansion valve and dryer) are not replaced or a full system flush is not performed when installing a replacement compressor, even the best new compressor may not perform properly (and may make noises like those this customer describes). Because improper installation leads to compressor damage, the warranty terms on A/C compressors are very specific and the warranty is valid only if these terms are followed. The warranty terms are clearly outlined on the Warranties page of our website and on the "Info" page for the part this customer purchased. We are currently waiting for this reviewer to provide proof that the warranty terms were followed, at which point we will happily facilitate a warranty solution.
