I recently purchased a replacement air strut for my 1999 Mercedes S Class.
Price was right for what I needed and wanted, a remanufactured unit to keep the adaptability function of the original airmatic suspension.
The unit arrived quickly by FedEx, just over a week to get from the east coast of the US to Brisbane, Australia.
I unpacked the strut and went to fit it, and there was an issue. The grub screw at the top of the air valve was tight and when it was removed it was obvious something wasn't right.
This is where the awesome service from Rockauto comes into play.
On a late Saturday afternoon Brisbane time I followed the return policy on the website to organise a return and didn't expect to hear back until Tuesday morning due to time difference. I was surprised when I had a reply early Monday morning my time with the return instructions and link to shipping label for free return of the strut.
Return was organised for the Tuesday, and was again pleasantly surprised to read that the replacement strut will be dispatched as soon as the return is logged as being picked up.
The return and replacement of the strut was great, with the replacement being delivered in 5 days of notification of dispatch from the east coast of the US.
The replacement was exactly what I needed and was quickly fitted to give me a working car again.
For me, the test if a company's service is when things go wrong, and I have nothing but praise for the way RockAuto handled my return, the service, speed and ease of process has won them a loyal customer, and the new payment facilities for us in Australia makes it even easier to buy from them.
