In response to the Supreme Court decision (South Dakota v. Wayfair), Colorado now requires online retailers, like RockAuto, to collect sales tax on orders shipped there. We cannot ship to certain cities in Colorado because they require us to file separate city tax returns. We comply with state-administered taxes nationwide, but we do not have the capacity to file city tax returns in places where we have no physical presence. This is true even for tax exempt orders because we would still have to navigate each city's unique exemption laws and tax return process.

However, we can still ship orders to any Colorado city that relies on the state to collect its sales tax. Cities that we can ship to are listed on the state website.

We are sorry if this customer believes he was mischarged on his recent order attempt. The amount he was charged is the same amount shown at our check out page when he placed his order. We have confirmed the correct amount was charged but if he has questions about his order he can contact our customer service team by email (service@rockauto.com).
