I'm a new owner of an old house, with a yard that has had little attention for a long time. I had utility wires coming through the heavy branches of a cedar tree in my back yard, and after a feeble attempt to take care of the problem myself, decided it was time to call in a professional. Jim came out to look the situation over soon after I contacted him, and gave me an estimate that was very reasonable. While he was at my place, I asked his advice on what to do about an old maple that was overrun with aggressive ivy, and he said the trimming of the cedar wouldn't take long, so he could cut back the ivy on the same visit with no extra charge. He brought out an assistant a few days later, and they were both so pleasant to work with, I had a very enjoyable hour. He kept asking which branches I wanted trimmed back as he worked, which I appreciated. The tree looks so much better, (and safer!) I plan to hire him again for some work on a big old cherry tree after it goes dormant.
