I’ve done a number of club fittings at top 100 rated fitters in the past, with good results, but I must say, this one topped them all. Alex Bonham is an extremely knowledgeable fitter, great communicator and very patient. I went in for a full bag fitting. After hitting shots with my gamer irons and driver, Alex determined that I was getting very good performance out of my current irons, based on the launch numbers and shot patterns, and I agreed with her determination. (There is no effort to push new equipment; only focus is to optimize results.) She keyed in on the carry distance I was getting with my driver and felt there was room for improvement. After trying multiple iterations of shafts and heads, we found the combination that optimized performance and I felt comfortable with. Next, I told her I wasn’t too comfortable with my current hybrids and fairway wood, so Alex went to work to fill in the gaps between the selected driver and my irons. My wedges were also badly worn, so she did and excellent job of finding the optimum loft, bounce, sole configuration and shaft for my swing to fill in the bottom portion of the set. Alex made it a fantastic fitting experience. My story doesn’t end here, however. I decided to wait till I had some on-course experience with my new clubs before I wrote my review. My new clubs arrived right on time and all to the determined specs. I took them right out to the golf course for a practice round. On the third hole, a very unusual thing happened. On my practice swing, as I loaded the club from the top and started the downswing, I felt the shaft actually break under the grip. I’ve never even heard of this happening before, an apparent defect in the shaft. So, when I got home I texted Alex about the situation. Even though it was after hours she got back to me immediately, very concerned, and arranged for me to come in the next morning. When I got there she had already started the warranty process with headquarters. No one likes these situations and, thankfully, they are extremely rare. But when they do, we can learn a lot about an organization. Club Champion delivered a replacement shaft to my door next day air to the exact original specs. I’ve now played multiple rounds using my new driver for about a month and am getting excellent results. After several rounds of driving the ball an average 15 - 20 (and some times 30) yards longer, my frequent golf buddy jokingly ask me if I was on steroids. It’s great to see the results achieved on the flight monitor materialize out on the golf course. I am totally happy with the performance of every one of my new clubs. Obviously, Alex is an exceptional fitter. And I also learned that Club Champion live up to their words and stand behind their product and their employees. Overall, they demonstrated they are first class in every aspect of their organization.
