Julian was ready for me on time and smiling. I was there for a driver fitting. I brought my two gamers, told him my thoughts and we began. Baseline with my two drivers. We eliminated one in three swings. At this point Julian told me he didn't think he could better. we tried but he was right. So with time to spare I asked if we could look at graphite shafts to replace the Project X still shafts I've been playing for 15 years but preserve my wonderful Muira heads. It was time and Julian didn't disappoint. We tried a variety of shaft weights, lengths and manufacturers. In the end the Steel Fibre 80 gram shafts out performed the others. At least in my hands. But, my swing with the mid to long irons I'd been playing were just putting too much spin on the ball. Of course Julian had a solution. Replace my cavity back, perimeter weighted irons with a classic but sturdy Muira muscle back design. Presto, right spin, correct launch, more and ball speed and better descent angle.

I could not be more pleased though I would caution that such customization is not for the feint of checkbook.
