I came to Club Champion feeling somewhat apprehensive about club fitting. I’m a higher handicap player who gets out on the course maybe 12 times a year, but have been playing increasingly more the last two years. For the last 8 years I had been using a starter set of clubs and adapted my play around them - never wanting to invest too much in a sport I didn’t have the time to devote more energy and practice towards.

From the minute I walked in, Brett made me feel welcome and assured me that being a higher handicapper was actually to my advantage here because I could potentially get much larger gains from a fitting. My biggest concern was tightening up my pattern and being more consistent with my shot placement, even if that meant sacrificing some yardage. Sure enough, we spent over an hour diving in on my irons and eventually landed on a shaft/head combo that tightened up the grouping more toward the center of the fairway, but actually gained me almost 20 yards of carry.

The entire time, Brett was receptive to my feedback and constantly checked in on how it was feeling with each new club. When we got to the driver, undoubtedly the worst club in my bag, we tried all sorts of combinations, eventually realizing that it was better for me to hit a 3-wood as a driver for the time being. I really appreciated Brett not trying to force me into a club that wasn’t working and didn’t fit my swing.

3+ hours later and entire bag fitting down and I’ve now got a great set of clubs that will carry me into the future of my game. Will certainly be back in the future as my game evolves!
