I have called twice within a three week window with the overarching complaint that there is a smell in the house when the furnace comes on. The first time a general maintenance was done, and the second time they fixed a leak in the exhaust pipe that was in the house. The second time I asked the technician if it could be coming from the attic and if he would mind looking at the connections to make sure nothing is getting sucked into the vents. He assured me it likely was not the attic and did not bother to even open the attic door and peek inside or take a whiff.

The technician was very nice, and did a good job at what he fixed. However, he only fixed the specific task and did not attempt to address the general complaint when I initially called.
