Simply The Best- Dustin is your man

Golfers!

I was skeptical about getting fitted- I know how much it costs, and then you have to go and pay for custom clubs after that which are a lot more expensive than just buying online or off the Rack at your local Dicks Sporting goods. However, I am a 5 handicap, and knew i was playing the wrong shafts after a lesson, and old technology, and I thought why not just take the plunge and at least invest $350 in a complete fitting to see how far off I am with my clubs. I can tell you having done it, it was the best golfing decision I have ever made (besides becoming an NY resident to play Bethpage Black for $65!).

Let me just start with this- Dustin is the freaking man. Patient, understanding, and not once did I feel any pressure to buy (unlike when manufacturers come to your local club and push product on you, I made that mistake in Australia with Taylor Made years ago and bought the wrong clubs). I hit 370 $@!#% and as there was no bookings after me, instead of a 3 hour fitting, i was there for about 5.5 hours as he was completely invested in trying to help my game. He even said if i was tired and my swing speed started to dip, to come back at a different time to fit the remaining clubs to get a fair assessment- that is about the best service you can offer, i was extremely impressed.

Every club starts with finding the right shaft, then you move on to the heads. Dustin is like Einstein behind his computer and the numbers, constantly tweaking and tweaking combinations, weights, shafts, heads to find the money numbers, or what he would call the best efficiency and performance based how you swing the club, the numbers don't lie. Even the putter fitting was awesome to make sure I knew i was square. He even adjusted a couple of wedge angles for free on the spot to help me out a little better.

The difference in numbers, and now i have been playing my new clubs has been astounding- i couldn't believe the $@!#% difference in my game, especially playing the right irons. You also get all your data and graphs sent to your email if you want them. And there is NO pressure to even buy the clubs from them, to save money you can get your stats and specs and buy from eBay if you really want to, even though Dustin says (and I agree) if the manufacturer or someone else makes the club, you are relying on their expertise, so if you CAN afford it then why wouldn't you just get this awesome master fitter to do it for you. I took the plunge on Irons, but got Callaway to make them up which saved me hundreds, but then got Club Champion to check them and make sure they were as close as possible to the demos we'd hit on. They are perfect.

The other great thing is, they get a baseline with the clubs you are currently using. I hit about 10 different 3 wood combos, but none were better than my Rock Bottom golf $100 Aero Burner purchase from 2 years ago- Dustin was like, mate- you definitely DON'T need a new 3 wood as you crush yours above optimum numbers already. The same for my Hybrid. No pressure, but confirmed that i already had the right clubs. The same was for my Sand Wedge and 60 degree too- there was no seeable difference in any new models, so I just kept most of my bag how it was- my average golf swing wasn't going to be improved by spending on cash on those particular clubs- maybe after some lessons, but that has nothing to do with technology, that is my lack of talent.

For you geeks out there, my 6 iron (standard fitting club) added 15 yards more distance WHILE adding about 2000 more RPM of spin- that is crazy.. so further, but better launch at greater spin.

My new driver was installed cheekily with a 3 wood shaft- something I never would have thought of, Dustin didn't even tell me, but the difference was used. At a swing speed of 100mph I added 20 yards to my driver lowering the spin (I hit WAY to higher spin with my driver) by about 3000 RPM. That is definitely the technology, as my crappy swing was still the same, just the club did the work.

I couldn't' afford $900 for the driver when i bought the irons, so i went to the manufacturer, bought the shaft off the specs, and found an Rogue head on Ebay. I then bought them into Club Champion and just payed a small fee to get them fitted to spec. This saved me over $350 on my driver- Dustin did not MIND at all. In fact he was supportive as he knows I am not a very wealthy guy, but still treated me like i was a founding member of Winged Foot! That is the biggest surprise- it is a luxury place with a luxury feel, but even a lower income earner (i can still afford to play golf clearly, so I'm not complaining) gets treated with the same time and respect as a Billionaire- this was very surprising.

I am writing this review after a trip to play Shinnecock and The National, and I shot in the mid 70s at both- something there is NO WAY i could have done with my old off the rack clubs, just no way, i'm sure there is strong psychological factor having new clubs, but not that strong.

I was a bit worried my driver as a bit off- so yesterday i bought the club back for Dustin, who free of charge, put me back on the simulator and gave me the demo set up to compare- we spent another 30 mins (they were quiet and about to close) making sure there weren't any issues. My swing speed was lower then the day of the fitting, but basically everything else checked out and he made on more weight adjustment to get it as perfect as possible. That kind of service is crazy- 'oh i have an issue, do you 5 mins' sure, come in and let's help you to get it perfect.

Anyway, i am not paid for this review, i have no affiliation with anything, just an average guy who plays a little better than average golf, and the fitting was the best $350 i ever spent. It equated to less than $50 an hour.

Thankyou Dustin for being professional and just the best in the business- i am extremely grateful.

I don't know about other locations- but you just need to get in line and go and see Dustin and tell your friends, your game is gonna change!
