The Plumber arrived with an open mind. A good thing considering that I thought that I had the problem diagnosed probably.
I was wrong. The Plumber started by verifying that the leaking was NOT on the “Pressure” side. 50% of the diagnostic work was done.
He proceeded to evaluate the rest of the plumbing and discovered that most of the fittings were not tight enough to carry the Waste Water away without pouring water out and saturating the Drywall of the ceiling.
He formulated a plan and then executed that plan. That plan entailed the replacement of all of the
Fittings, seals and associated hardware.
The Plumber then proceeded to fill the Bathtub up with water. When the water level was above the “Waste and over flow” he turned the faucet off an went downstairs to verify that nothing was leaking. Everything was watertight. Then back up stairs and let the water out of the Bathtub.
Back downstairs with a strong Flashlight to check all of his work.
Watertight end to end. I asked if there was anything that I needed to do going forward. He assured me that it was better than new.
I have a Snail Fan blowing upwards from the Downstairs Bathroom into the area that was so wet before the Plumber arrived. The Drywall guy will be out next week to replace the Drywall and Texture the repair.
