NOT VERY HAPPY
My cold water valve broke - I called Black Mountain and they we able to sand a plumber over the same day - great. The quoted price was $285 for both valves - as they said they must to both valves. I said OK and a couple hours later the plumber arrived - looked a the value and said he could repair on valve for the quoted price. I said that is all I really need so please proceed. The plumber also stated that because I had a galvanized pipe attached to a brass fitting he could only repair the valve today and another person would have to attach the pipe, which would be at an addition cost. I inquired as to how much of an additional cost and the plumber explained that it should be too much - I asked if he could be a little more specific and he said he really did not know was sure it wouldn't be more than the original $285. I authorized the work and we had to disconnect one irrigation line and one lead water hose line. A couple days later I received a call to schedule the connection of the galvanized pipe. When the plumber arrived he said the additional charge would be another $377. Which a significantly higher than I was told, but I had no choice but to have the pipe connected. Upon completing the connection to pipe, the irrigation sprinklers automatically came on and would not shut off (everything was working perfectly prior to the repair job). The plumber explained that he knew nothing about irrigation line and that I should call an expert to have it repaired. Which required shutting off the cold water again. I called a repairman to fix the irrigation line and it turned out the problem was somehow during the repairs and reconnecting the pipe someone cut a wire. The cost of the irrigation repairman was an additional $120.
Bottom line: the original quote of $285 now cost $762 - as you can see I am not a happy customer.
