So Happy Morningstar is Just a Short Commute from my Home
After my Dad passed away, it became increasingly clear to me that my Mom was having issues being on her own. She lived across the country and her then retirement village had assisted living. I toured it and was repulsed and refused to have my Mother live in a cold hospital setting even though she was guaranteed financially to be able to stay there for the rest of her life. I toured three places in the Fountain Hills/Scottsdale area and from the first moment I stepped foot at Morningstar just felt the "caring". Not another way to put it. Yes, it is a business but I believe the smallness of the facility enables residents (who are able) to more easily interact with each other. Peer contact is so important. And staff is wonderful. Nothing is perfect but I just feel so good having her there compared to other options. Family members and friends who have visited feel the same way. And I can see her in only 15 minutes so she doesn't feel abandoned. But more and more I am skipping days and when I call she sounds happy. You can't ask for much more than that!
