Why would anyone buy a club straight off the rack from one of these mega golf stores or their proshop? Most people do because they don't fully understand what custom fitting is... Let me tell you about Mike Rausch at Club Champion in carrolloton texas. Mike fit me for my driver, 3 wood , hybrid, irons, wedges and putter. We actually did 3 fittings... We tested my woods first... It is the shaft combined with the right head for each golfer that makes for a great club. Not the brand or club itself...My driver shaft is different than the shaft in my 3 wood which is different than the shaft in my 3 hybrid. Mike was knowledgable and explained things to me that i might not have undestood by just looking at the trackman numbers or from just feel and looks alone...It is finding that right fit of feel, look and the numbers... Then we did my wedges and my putter... We adjusted to a 54 degree and a 58 degree....I don't understand the bounce numbers $@!#% i can tell you my sand game is greatly improved.... Still working on the chipping thing... I would have bet any amount of money that there was no way i could improve on my ping putter that ive had for 13 years and loved. Boy was i wrong . Because of my straight back straight through putting he fitted me with a Taylor Made malet setting the loft to my numbers....IT'S EVEN BETTER .....Im making more mid range putts. On the third fitting for the irons we tested 6 iron heads and 5 shafts .... We settled down to two shafts and two heads....The reason im telling you this is because not every shaft works with every head.... One iron was great with one shaft and not very good at all with the other shaft. Then we did the calloway rogue iron with the other shaft the patterson shaft....It smoked the other iron shaft combination by almost 13 yards and better dispersion....What else can i say..... TAKE advantage of their winter fitting special... You don't have to buy everything at once $@!#% get fitted and upgrade your game one area at a time........THANK YOU MIKE.....you sure have this golf nut excited about his clubs and the future of my game.....
