The entire clubfitting process was a revelation. I hadn't bought a new set in 25 years, back when you tried out clubs by hitting into a net with no feedback other than feel and how the ball traveled for 15 or 20 feet. But this was something else--computerized up the yin-yang, with all kinds of fascinating (and embarrassing) data about clubhead speed, ball speed, spin, smash factor, etc. It was like I was being analyzed during a PGA tournament on national TV by Nick Faldo! Yes, it's pricey when you put it all together, but I discovered I was playing with the wrong kind of shafts, the wrong kind of putter, the wrong kind of woods. Amazing. Will my scores improve? Who knows, but if I can get more enjoyment and fewer mishits during a round, that counts for a lot.
