Tyler started out by having me warm up and then hit several 6 iron shots using my existing club to get baseline performance.

That was followed by a series of shots with various shafts with the same new 6 iron head. For each shaft, I hit between 3-5 shots. Slowly but surely, based on trackman numbers and shot dispersion, a certain weighted shaft was determined to be the best for me. Once that weight was determined, we went through the same process to determine the best performing shaft based on where the weight was located within the shaft. We landed on THE shaft for me.

After determining THE shaft, Tyler had me hit 3-5 shots per head for about 12-15 different heads by all of the manufacturers (even some I’ve never heard of). That resulted in 3 top performing heads. Tyler than had me hit 3-5 shots with each of these top 3 heads but now was only interested in my feel, look, sound, comfort, etc. not the numbers. After all of this, we found THE shaft and THE head for me.

After that we did pretty much the same thing for wedges. What was found to be right for me in shaft and head were no where near my thoughts when I walked in but Tyler figured it all out.

We did decide to have me come back for putter and wood fitting. Tyler recommended this as he saw I was getting tired hitting all those shots to determine all of my irons.
