I wish I would have gone here first! I got fitted this summer - my first time getting fitted for clubs - at a local club with a good reputation. But Mike Snodgrass [sp?] at the Cleveland location educated me about the club fitting experience, what could and could not be achieved with a custom fitting, and setting a reasonable level of expectation about what we might be able to achieve. Something just did not feel 'right' about the clubs/club fitting at the prior place, and Mike dove into much more detail about me, my game, tendencies, preferences, etc. None of this came up at my previous fitting. I now feel I'm on the right track with Mike/Club Champion. Looking forward to receiving my modified irons [shafts] and the different makeup of my bag [e.g., ditch 5 wood for 3 hybrid]. And while Club Champion seems to have a reputation for high prices, Mike was sensitive to the fact that I already had quite and investment in clubs, which I'd only had for a few months, and sensibly looked for an improvement path with as much of my existing equipment as possible. Highly recommend Club Champion!
