Horrible experience
I woke up sunday 2/14/21 to no heat. I checked my boiler to find the pilot light was out. After 3 attempts of lighting the pilot only to have it go out. I knew it was time to call yost. starting at 10:30am I attempted to use the usual number ive used in the past 718-925-4090. the call would instantly drop, no voicemail, nothing. I initially thought it was my iphone. I attempted to use the house phone and received the same result. I attempted to use the next number of 914-668-6461, it rang and stated "this message may be recorded", then it sat for 30 seconds of nothing and then would drop. I attempted to try 888-986-6795, 800-640-9678, 718-823-9408, 888-380-7115. None of the numbers offered a voicemail, the call would drop. I am located in the bronx, so I had my mom who lives on long island call a few of the numbers and she received the same result, I assumed Yost was having phone issues. After trying to call for 2 hours, I went to the yost website to see if any type of message was posted on the website in regards to phone issues. I noticed a chat option on the website, I typed my issue and Kim appeared and asked for name and number. I explained my issue and she recommended a number that had already failed repeatedly. after explaining to her yost was experiencing phone issues. I asked her to attempt to call the number and let me know the result. she tried and concluded there was a phone issue and would get her service manager involved. she stated she passed my issue to the main office and i would receive a callback. I waited until 3pm and started another chat window with Zara, same procedure, same result. I asked if she could provide me with a number that actually works. How is she passing it to the main office if the numbers are not working. I had to call another company to seek other options, but once i was told it would cost 600.00 for someone to come out for a part that costs 11.99 on amazon and i could install it myself. Plus I have a maint contract that includes 24/7 support. at 5:08pm I sent an email to service@yostandcampbell.com stating my issues. No response, no callback, I then had to place portable heaters throughout the house and wait until monday 2/25/21. I called 914-668-6461 first thing in the morning and a person answered. I stated my issue and he said someone would be out between 1-6pm. I asked him did yost have issues on 2/14/21 and he stated he was not aware of any. He stated he would inquire with upper management. I asked the tech that arrived the same thing in regards business operations on 2/14/21 and he was not aware. I find it hard to believe no one was aware that the phones were not functioning for customers. Major failures across the board, phones were not functioning and another means of communication was not provided. I have zero confidence in the service i have paid for, due to the fact it failed me when i needed it the most.
the system just had a maint check 12/20
