Maintenance and Service
I had the boiler and Hot Water Heater serviced on Friday morning and everything was fine. About 8 yours later when I went to shower, there was no hot water. #1 The problem was the thermocouple if I remember correctly. $95. Checking the price of thermocouples online I see nothing that costs over $30. Why was the cost $95. I hope the rest was not for labor considering I have a service plan. #2 Servicing the boiler also includes draining or flushing the boiler. The boiler was not drained/flushed. The boiler and hot water heater are approximately 9 years old. If replacing the thermocouple is something that needs to happen every year, please advise. I'm sure I can secure one at less than $95. Perhaps the person doing the maintenance should replace it automatically to avoid the inconvenience of no hot water to the customer. Also, have those doing maintenance complete the job in it's entirety even if it means providing them with a list of things to be done. My confidence in Yost and Campbell is slowly decreasing.
