Very expensive
My water heater was covered by my Home Warranty, but not the labor and additional materials required (flex line, expansion tank). Rentmeister seemed very high priced and this cost came out of my pocket. Charged $75 for a short piece of flex line, $75 for a piece of gas line i think, $75 disposal cost, and $175 for the expansion tank. $75 service call fee. Didn't receive a bill so not sure what the other $25 was for. Total labor/materials cost was $500 (out of my pocket). Expansion tanks show $40-100 at Home Depot. I took the old heater to the landfill and only paid $5. I can't imagine the flex line material cost more than $10 and it certainly didn't take 1-2 hours just to replace the lines. I was happy with the quick and quality service, but ridiculously expensive.
