A pretty good job, but overall disappointed.
When looking for companies who remodel bathrooms, I chose Re-Bath Grand Rapids. They had a convenient location, and Don, the salesman I spoke with, was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I found it odd that after hiring him he remarked that I would be charged an extra $500.00 a day for any work that went over the two-day estimate. Thankfully that didn't happen, but it was something I had never heard before and hadn't expected. On the other hand, Don was kind enough to let me know they would have no trouble installing new tile in my kitchen as well as it was the same type of tile that was laid in the bathroom. In my opinion, the bathroom they did for me was pretty good, however, there were some glaring issues which I had trouble with. First, the showerhead isn't completely straight, which bothers me and since they glued the wall back in place I'm not sure they can fix that issue. Also, the towel rack they put in was installed improperly against the door. I went to remove it and found it had been screwed straight into the drywall. Re-Bath came back in and fixed that particular issue for me at no extra charge to myself.
What was really dissatisfactory was the kitchen tile they installed. They instructed me to remove all the appliances, which wasn't a problem, however, the rest of the job went very poorly. the guy who they sent was really young and in my opinion, inexperienced. When he removed the tile, he also removed the paper underneath it and didn't make sure to level the floor. They ended up needing to order more tile to complete the job, so Don came in to see how many were needed and ordered the wrong ones, which meant my kitchen appliances had to sit in the living room for a couple days, an inconvenience to say the least. After that, the young man who installed it, though friendly, installed the tiles over an uneven surface and then told me I would need a transition piece, which I did not want under any circumstances and had never been informed that it would be needed. He had argued with me over it and told me that if it did not fit he would be glad to shave down my door. That was the last straw and I complained to the company who sent the chief installer out after that. While he was able to complete the job without the need for a transition floor, he still left the kitchen floor uneven with lumps and dips. I was also told that they would make sure my molding matched however when they arrived the molding was the wrong size so he went to Lowe's to get the right size. Only when he returned and put the molding in the kitchen it was still 1/4" too high. Everything with the kitchen has been a nightmare.
All that being said, since the bathroom went well I am having them return and do the second bathroom for me and hopefully fix everything else that they left undone.
