My car broke down at my work late at night, so I needed a mobile mechanic or a tow to my usual garage. I decided to deal with it the next morning and got a ride home from a coworker.

I Googled "mobile mechanics in San Diego" and started reading reviews. At first glance, with Jose standing next to a Maserati, I thought "This is going to be expensive!" The reviews gave me confidence to at least see how far out I would have to wait for an appointment.

I called about 9:30AM and Jose told me he had a 12 noon and 4PM appointment, but that he thought he could squeeze me in if he could start right away.

He picked me up at home (20 min. later like his ad says), drove me to my work with him and diagnosed the problem. All of this in less than 45 min.

After starting the car, he followed me home to do the repair as my work parking lot was full. After calling for the part, he tacked on $60 for labor and that was it!

We bought the part, I asked if we could go by the bank and he had the part installed by 11:45, in time to make his noon appointment.

I will be recommending him and he is most likely going to be my new mechanic.

He used to have a garage in El Cajon, but closed it due to too many problems with rent, employees, insurance, etc. etc. red tape. Now he does all the work himself and charges cheap labor rates as he doesn't have high overhead.
