Most expensive repair to date

I don’t know if it was a misunderstanding or what, but we’re out $690.00 for a toilet repair.
The bill was broken down to 250.00 for the diagnostic call, 250.00 for the repair toilet kit and 190.00 for replacing water stop.
I spoke to the woman a few days afterward, it was a Friday and Mom was a holiday. Spoke Tues and she told me she’d get back to me by the end of day. Never did, had to call her back.
Now, she told me 250.00 was the was the standard charge for a diagnostic call!
There is so much to this story, like was told it would be after hours when the repairman would arrive. However, he was here and gone before 5pm.
I just think the total 690.00 was an exuberant amt for this repair. Learned a lesson, but the woman wasn’t willing to fix the situation.

Hello Jeanie.
I see that you still have questions even after our phone conversation about the billing for work that was done. As I have told you on the phone, I have approved the diagnostic fee charge with your husband prior to sending technician out to you. I have also made sure that technician followed our company policy, and he approved all charges with you prior doing any repairs. You and our technical both told me that it was the case, and he did approved all charges with you prior the repairs. He also collected your signature of satisfactory work on the invoice. Regarding the timing of your call, when I took the call from your husband on Friday afternoon, he did tell me that it was somewhat urgent as he was leaving the town and needed someone out as soon as possible because of water was shut off to the whole house. I was able to rearrange our schedule and send my tech earlier, pushing my previously scheduled call to a latter time. I did mention that in our phone conversation, but maybe I has not clear enough, and for that I apologize.
Jeanie, when we spoke on the phone you did tell me that your technician was very nice and polite. I thank you for those kind words.
