This was my first experience with Winters Plumbing. Technician Anthony Sousa is polite and has good customer service skills. However, I expected Winters to have sent me a more experienced technician to work on my Bunham K-2 high energy efficiency boiler. Anthony didn’t seem very knowlegeable on these types of systems. From the time he came in, he was on the phone with a “more experienced” tech from Winters who was telling him what to do and where things were. When I called Winters, I especifically asked them to send a tech who has knowledge and experience working with these types of boilers. His diagnosis was solely based on what the tech on the phone was saying. He was not able to fix the hot water issue or able to give me a firm diagnosis. He said “it could be this or it could be that” based on a 10-15 mins troubleshooting while on the phone with the "more experienced" tech. I asked him to write it up. As a result, I’m hesitant about doing all the repairs he suggested on my 4 year old high energy efficiency boiler. I will get a second opinion from another company. He was also not prepared or ready to work - he did not have ANY tools with him. The only thing he had with him was his cell phone. He had to run out to his truck to get something as simple as a screwdriver everytime the tech on the phone asked him to try to do something. I know he is very young so he has time to learn and eventually he will get there. I purchased a 1 year maintenance plan. Now, I wonder if I made a good choice. I truly hope I have a better experience with the two service maintenance visits (in the fall and spring) included in the plan.
