Quick and efficient service but expensive

My water heater broke on a Saturday and Winters were one of the few that were open on weekends. I did not get a chance to research the prices. The technician was friendly, articulate and provided super quick service to replace the water heater. But I have a couple of issues
1. At the start he said he will waive the visitation fee ($125) if I go for the replacement with Winters. But later changed his tune and said he can't waive it. I have a feeling he changed his tune after I turned down his more expensive options (tankless etc) and went for the bare bones replacement.
2. He charged $2100 to replace the heater and assured me that is the normal rate. But my later research showed the most I should have paid is $1500. I feel like the $600 premium was a lot for a Saturday service while I could have easily waited a couple more days to get it done. I know I'm to blame for not doing the research upfront but I trusted his word and I was wrong

We would l like to offer our personal apology for not meeting your expectations. The dispatch fee is up to the discretion of the technician, as they are the ones providing the service. When we set up weekend appointments, this is why you are given the option of waiting until the weekday, or paying the emergency fee to get the technician to your home as fast as possible.

After reading the closeout invoice, it seems there may have been more work to be done then the technician originally thought, and this would be the cause of him charging you the fee. Winters is one of the largest full service residential plumbing companies in the Boston area, so our prices will vary from other smaller companies in the same area. We are also one of the few companies that service customers 7 days a week. It is nearly impossible for you to associate the price with what you saw online, with the services provided by the technician. Prices online only are accounting for the actual product, and do not include time spent, warranties, response time, professionalism, etc...
