We woke up on a Friday morning to a cold house. I had planned to call Winters that morning to have the boiler exhaust piping looked at and boiler given a checkup. I called Winters; although all their appointment slots were taken, they worked me in early in the afternoon. Ken checked over the boiler and found a blower assembly was not working. Parts were not available locally, so Ken ordered them - delivery was to be Monday. When he could get the parts and some new piping to fix obvious exhaust pipe problems, he came Monday afternoon. Obvious Ken knew the type of boiler well, and the parts replacement was without problems. After testing that the boiler now worked properly, Ken took apart much of the exhaust line and tried to mate the new piping pieces to the existing exhaust installation. It became clear that during the installation of the boiler (during a renovation 20 years ago) the piping then available had been modified in a manner which precluded it mating with current piping. Ken worked out another plan to create a good joint between the old and new piping later that day, and followed it Tuesday afternoon. The exhaust line is now proper, and the whole heating system is running like new. Ken was great in getting some unusual conditions corrected - obviously an experienced, careful HVAC technician, well supported by the Winters organization. I have great confidence in that team.
