Problem with AC fixed but concerned that was not caught in June maintenance check.

Steve was great in fixing the clogged drain in our AC unit, but I don't know why this problem was not caught in the June maintenance check. The ServePro people who came to clean up said the water had probably been leaking since we turned on the system at the beginning of the summer. This is going to cost us a lot of money since we have to replace all the carpeting. What good is our maintenance plan?

Unfortunately, Serve pro is not qualified to makes that assessment on you system, as they are not a licensed HVAC technician. A clogged condensate line can occur at any time, and is more likely to happen the more the system is running. We are sorry if you felt that this incident was missed when Steve did your maintenance in June, but chances are the clog was not there as checking the condensate line, is part of the maintenance inspection.
