Capital Plumbing & Heating

They Do Excellent Work!

I have used Capital Plumbing & Heating for years. I want to convey first that they do excellent work and I have never had an issue with their services.

I have two fireplaces, two furnaces and two humidifiers. I scheduled them out for an annual inspection for everything. I also had them replace two faucets in our basement sink.

There were two things that stood in the way of a five-star rating: The first was the pricing for the maintenance and inspection. To be fair they let you know that this service is a fixed price and I agreed to it. I simply did not want to find another company and schedule out the inspection due to winter being close at hand. Compared to everyone else in town they are significantly higher. Again I want to convey that they do excellent work, but the price for this service is very high.

The second thing was what little bit of plumbing that they did they had to turn off the hot water heater to replace the two faucets. They turned it back on when they were finished. After the plumbers left the overflow valve blew and started pouring water all over my basement floor. There was no flooding and no damage because my drain for the basement was five feet from the hot water heater. I called the emergency number and the same plumbers arrived within 30 minutes. There is a probe inside the hot water heater that went bad and was corroded with hard water which measures the tanks temperature and pressure. Because the probe was bad and didn't function properly therefore causing it to overflow. I honestly don't think that the plumbers did anything that caused this to happen and may have been triggered by them turning off the unit and turning it back on. I do not blame them for this issue. I think that the probe was bad and just got triggered by turning off the heater. They cleaned everything up nicely and did not charge me to fix this issue.

Their service has been excellent over the years and I will continue to use them for other jobs outside of the annual maintenance and inspections, because I think their pricing for that is way more expensive than others in the same area.
