I have a boiler system in my home, and it was not properly turning on, or shutting off. I requested Capital Plumbing & Heating to come out and take a look at the system. After diagnosis and assessment, they said the system was in desperate need of a thorough cleaning, and flushing out, and that I also needed a different configuration on how water was fed into the system. I purchased an external tank system from them, which would negate the need for the boiler to be connected to a typical residential water system, and which would permit the use of glycol. I authorized them to do this work. The very next day, my problem reoccurred. Natural gas heating systems have a control valve which operates under slight pressure, which opens and closes to provide natural gas as the system requires it. Apparently, this control valve was never shutting off. I called Capital Plumbing & Heating, and they sent a different fellow out. They did not charge for this. It was a Friday afternoon. He found that this valve was failing, and since the weekend was upon us, he promised to call me back with a price on a new valve, and with a time when they would be able to replace the old valve. Time went on, and I never got a call back, so I contacted another company to get a second opinion. This technician did a review on the work done by Capital, and said that the parts which were supposed to be cleaned, and pristine, were not. He took pictures, and also took fluid samples. I eventually had the problem fixed for about one tenth the price charged by Capital Plumbing & Heating. I feel like I paid for a cleaning and a flush that were not properly done, and for a tank system that may not have even been necessary in the first place. Needless to say, I was not satisfied with them. I do plan to call them about this.
