I got a knock on my door recently from a representative of Kilter Termite and Pest Control. A very nice young man had come to tell me that I could get a free termite inspection. I had been noticing termite excrement in an area under my eaves in the patio. The young man scheduled a termite inspection appointment for the upcoming Friday. The termite inspector showed up to do the inspection promptly at the agreed upon time. He was very polite, thorough and professional. He found a couple other areas besides the patio area that I had no idea had termites. Also, there was a different kind of termite that was discovered on my property, subterranean termites were in and under a shed in the back yard. I had no idea that there was even a problem in that shed! I was shown where they had colonized, and the destruction they had done to the framing of the shed. I received an estimate for the cost of the repairs to the house, it seemed to be reasonable. Before I had Kilter do the work on replacing fascia boards and rafters that were riddled with termits, I checked with my handyman and another termite company to compare costs. Kilter was the least expensive and the most confident in being able to eradicate the termites- and keep them away. The work to replace the damaged wood was done quickly, by very polite workers. It pays to do business with local family-owned businesses! One other good thing about Kilter is that we didn't have to leave the house, their system of killing termites didn't involve tenting my house. The pets, the food in the cupboards all got to stay in place. It's nice we didn't have to get a room in a hotel while the work was performed as the other company I contacted suggested. I am very happy to report that over a year from having Kilter perform the work I have seen no sign of termites anywhere around my home. Just to keep all types of bugs and pests at bay, I have contracted with Kilter Termite & Pest Control to do pest control around my house and property to get rid of some troublesome spiders and various other bugs. I have recommended this company to my friends and neighbors.
