We have two dogs, and after many years of them - and us - tracking in everything from the outdoors, our room and hallway rugs were incredibly dirty, and smelled like, well - dogs! Occasionally we would clean them using our upright carpet cleaner, but were never really able to get rid of the dog smell or that ground-in dirt.
