Very Dishonest and Very Expensive.
My experience with Blue Ribbon Services was extremely disappointing and I would not recommend them to others, at all. When I called them in to look at the unit, which wasn't working, they told me that the entire thing was going to need to be replaced, and they charged me a couple thousand dollars for things like "the parts they had to order" to replace the parts they'd used to try to fix it, and a disposal fee for antifreeze that they'd removed. The whole expereince felt a bit off, so I called to get a second opinion, after they'd left, and was blown away by what I learned. For one, the unit was new, and still under warranty, which had not been mentioned. For another, I was told that antifreeze is not disposed of, but generally reused by the company. Most outstandingly, the problem with the unit was a loose wire, which was an incredibly easy, afforable fix, of course. I really cannot believe that Blue Ribbon Services told me I needed an entirely new unit, and wanted to charge me ten grand when it was actually such a simple problem with a simple solution. It felt very dishonest, and I was not at all happy to have called them. They seem to try to take advantage of customers who don't know enough about HVAC to know better, and I will certainly never be calling them, again.
