System Maintinance & Work Proposal

I had my heating and air conditioning system inspected and cleaned. The service technician Shawn was very nice, personable, knowledgeable ,and respectful. Shawn recommended a central humidifier system as we have a gas fired forced hot air system which can dry the air. He also recommended an in duct UV light system to kill mold and purify the air. Shawn told me I wold receive a work proposal via e mail the next day, which I did.

After reviewing the work proposal I called the service manager (Bob Ghosio Jr) to discuss the proposal that he sent. He was not available and I was told he would call me back shortly. During the 2 hours I waited for his call I researched the prices for. both the central humidifier and the in duct UV air purifiers. I also called several other reputable HVAC companies certified to install the products that Flanders recommended. I was SHOCKED to learn that the prices I was quoted by Flanders were over 400% higher than any other company I contacted!!!
When the service manager finally called me back I questioned him on the quoted price of $4400 to install a Aprilaire 800 steam humidifier which I priced at $650 (uninstalled cost) by 5 different vendors. His response was "Well I guess we're not going to go with that one let's move on to the next item" When I expressed how unreasonable I felt the estimate was he said well ' I get that fee all the time." He was arrogant ,rude and made NO attempt to negotiate the price of try and keep me as a customer for that job, or the others they proposed: UV air purifier ,the duct cleaning , or the service contract !
This employee and his actions are a direct reflection on FLanders as a whole. Based on his arrogant attitude,lack of professionalisim, empathy and compassion I rate my customer experience as VERY POOR.
