I spent ~3 hours with George Smith and it felt like 15 minutes. Upon walking in and seeing the options available I was excited to get to work. We discussed my game and goals. Distance wasn't the main focus, rather better mishits to hit more fairways and greens. I play at Town & Country, so hitting it in the right spot is much more important than bombing it 330 off the tee.
We baselined my AP2 710 6 iron at 170 and were off and running. After settling on a shaft (using the 718 AP2) we started to experiment with heads. We narrowed it down to the Mizuno JPX and Taylormade P790. We didn't make a decision and moved on to putting. After a 15 minutes we figured out my putter was fine, just needed to adjust the loft. George wasn't pushing me to new equipment if it wasn't going to benefit me...

We tinkered with a 3 wood and settled on one and then went back to the irons. After a second round with both options I settled on the P790s. The feel was great and the distance gained was crazy.

We hit a bunch of drivers and the result, stick with my M2, why spend money for limited gains.

The end result was a set of irons and a 3 wood and I will be back to see George again soon.
