Very Satisfied
58 y,o. male HCP 5
Played > 45 years and never had a through fitting. Sure, had hit in a few bays to try some clubs but never a systematic testing as Club Champion. Was seeking primarily distance and I am not disappointed in results.
Irons were Callaway Apex Pro, Project X 6.0. With 6I club head speed of 82-83 mph the first step was to find a shaft that would translate to faster clubhead and ball speed. Using my same Apex Pro 6 iron head George quickly zeroed in. Result was Aerotech carbon/steel i80 S. Gained several mph without increased dispersion. I was a bit nervous moving to composite graphite, but the results are in. Clearly no loss in control/straightness and they are as consistent shot to shot as the Project X.
Next the iron head search. As a Titleist fan I was considering T-MB, however went straight to C16. Again results are in. Fast face, high launch. Clearly less buttery than forged irons but easy to adapt to.
Interestingly though the uncut shaft wt is 85 g compared to Project X 6.0 of 120 g the final club wt is only about 23 g lesser. I perceive no difference in club weight. However, 7 iron distance has jumped from 150-155 y to 165-170 y with high launch and very straight.
All in all a great experience, highly recommended.
