Anthony & Sylvan Pools

Did the Job Quite Well

The pool was vintage 1978 initially built by Sylvan. I had it painted a few times. The work done was a joke because the paint it had had a lot of pin holes in it so it was leaching through the paint. That's why I had it redone. In the last eight years or so, I had to re-put the tile back up that the ice kept breaking free. There is a deal of the chemicals that attacked the concrete, so that's an overall problem. Also, I have to paint my walkway so I had to get information on what paints are available because it's discolored in many places.

They came in and did the job quite well. They seem to have a good crew. The design consultant explained things pretty good. Anthony & Sylvan stripped the paint off, cemented the walls at one place where it was in need of it and resurfaced the pool with concrete. I also got new tile job. The end result was quite good. The finish I got took a lot of chemicals and it required a lot of work but the end results are what I'm looking forward to seeing how it stood up over the winter. The pool itself look like a new pool.

There were some questions I had in terms of the rounded plastic over the floor drains that they charged me $750 for. In essence, it was a $20 or $30 deal, so that was a joke on jokes. I had a diving board which the bolts that held the diving board in place I wound up paying $50 some more for, but didn't fit. Sylvan didn't have the parts for the old board even though they did sell me that board initially. I had one skimmer they elbow into the pool but nothing fits. They cemented over it and the old one that didn't fit anymore, so I have one that's working and one skimmer where the water reaching it is not controlled. There's no elbow to position the water coming in and nowhere that it comes straight like out of a pipe. Also, at one time, they showed up when I didn't even know they were coming. The woman that did the schedule was on vacation. The schedule was changed and I had no one to talk to.
