CarShield

Do not buy!!

We bought carshield in December. We had heard great things but as soon as we needed to use it in February we got nothing but the run around with added expense out of our pocket as they found a loop hole NOT TO PAY FOR OUR QUALIFIED REPAIR. Be careful with the word modification in your contract. We bought our truck 7 years ago "4 inch lif" brand new feom tje dealership. We bought mpp warranty at the time and it covered things over the years. Then we bought Carshield to continue to have a warranty. After taking the engine apart and having 2 adjusters go and look, the 2nd adjuster saw the truck was lifted and immediately denied the claim. They never ask up front if your vehicle is modified. They have a plan for modified trucks like this but not once does the application ask you or forewarn you to see all available products. Its a $25 difference. We were never offered the opportunity to this upsell and Im very upset that they won't redund us since we actually bought a product that we couldn't use. So we called to see how they couod meet us halfway, the representative on the phone says not to worry, they would give us 30-50% discount on their parts and up to 40% on their installations (we need a new engine $8200) but when we had the dealership call the insursnce(carshield) they said no one had authority to approve that. So they have liars telling us even more lies giving us hope. They do not practice with professionalism or integrity. At least give your consumer all the upfront info at the beginning. You're totally missing an upsell opportunity for sure! P.s. a changed radio that is not stock part of original vehicle can also be a "modified" part causing your electrical system to be compromised. That one happened to my next door neighbor. They paid car shield for THREE YEARS of $129 per month with DENIED claim too! Thieves!!!

Hi Celine,

Yes, as stated in your policy, a lift voids out your contract. I believe what our rep was saying is that we, here at CarShield, do not approve or deny claims. All of that goes through the administrator of your account. So what he said was correct that we do not have authority to approve that. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. We're happy to answer and questions/concerns you may have.
