My mom was living at MorningStar Assisted Living and Memory Care for about two and a half years before she passed away. There were some issues that came up while she was there, but towards the end of her life there were some new managers (Scott and Dena) who really did a lot to turn things around. Their leadership really improved things quite a bit. They were working hard to make MorningStar a good quality place, and some of the better things were panning out just in the few months before my mom passed away. It was a big project but what they did really made a difference and the quality of care really improved.

The other part of the program there is the activities. They really try to do a good job keeping the residents engaged, so they get high marks on connecting with the folks who live there, which is really important for memory care and assisted living. They have quality activities. I would say to anyone who has relatives there that if things don't seem right, don't feel shy about speaking up about it. Sometimes people think things just are the way they are, but I've noticed that sometimes nobody is aware of the problem and if you go in and speak with someone about it then they might be able to address the issue. Most of the concierges there were very friendly and helpful.
