MorningStar Assisted Living and Memory Care of Boulder

Creates A Great Sense Of Community!

When we realized that my dad need to be moved into an assisted living home, the decision was so difficult. After visiting several places, the Jewish Community Center we attended recommended MorningStar Assisted Living and Memory Care of Boulder. From the minute I walked in, I knew this place was somewhere special. I noticed right away that the facility was clean and beautifully done! I was so happy to see how people interacted there and greeted each other so kindly. We met with Adam and he gave us some more thorough details about the home. Soon, they sent us some follow-up, but there was really no pressure. I really liked that they understood the process we were going through and didn't try to rush us into anything. We ended up choosing MorningStar because it was a smaller facility and they really had a strong sense of community. There was guitar and other instruments played daily, a happy hour, and a bistro with great food! We talked to some of the residents and they were really upfront about their experiences there. A ton of accommodations were made for us. They even helped us find a moving service that was specifically for seniors! Adam knew it was really important to me that we take the transition slowly so my dad was not overwhelmed. It was a big deal for him, because not only was he moving across the country to live there, but he had never lived alone before. Adam arranged it for us so we could take residency a week before we moved him in. It was such a gentle transition for him. The way the nurses assisted the patients really stood out to me. The front desk staff is always available! I really liked that my dad seemed like he would be treated like a person and feel important when he was there. He had so much opportunity to make friends and be social. The staff goes above and beyond with everything they do. I even have their cell numbers! Sometimes the caregivers even send me updates and pictures of my dad to let me know how he is doing! It is never an easy decision to make when your parents have to leave home, but MorningStar has created a sense of community that encourages people to participate and also bring everything they are to the table. Caring for my dad is an honor and a privilege, but knowing he is treated as a whole person and he is cared for and checked on and given the extra attention he needs allows me to have my life too! But when I do have time, I love to go visit my dad. They never act like I'm impeding on things or being a burden. They always treat me with the utmost kindness and respect.
