Advantage taken
My husband died about 5 months ago from stage 4 colon cancer. Before he died we talked about how I would have to hire a plumber to fix things on our house. He recommended CPI, as he spent 20 years in the industrial plumbing business. He said, they were good. I had the furnace, water heater, air scrubber system, and a laundry scrubber installed. I also asked that the shut off valve for the house be replaced. In addition I asked if there were any other issues under the house, I was told no, it was all good. That was over $9000. They said part of the duct work for the furnace was gone, so I paid an additional $670 to have the duct worked replaced. My father went out after they were done and said, you did not replace the shut off valve, the guy said, and sorry completely forgot about it, we will reschedule it for another day. I waited for 3 days for them to reschedule, nobody called, so I called them. At first they were nice, but then it became, this is extra work you didn't pay for, you did not ask for this to be done. After I complained to the manger, they agreed to replace it for "free". In the mean time I had a gentleman come look at my foundation to see if it was in good shape. It was, but he showed pictures of my duct worked for the furnace that had a huge hole in it, he also said there was a leaking pipe that would have been very hard to miss. He also stated that the there was no sewage, just water. I addressed these concerns to the manager again. They came and replaced the shut valve, repaired the duct work, that I thought I paid extra to have replaced and told me all my pipes are in desperate need of replacing and there is sewer all under my house. WTF. To say I feel taken advantage of, is an understatement. I was quoted $3000 by cpi to replace all the ductwork under my house. I contacted Barron plumbing and heating who are doing the job with upgraded ductwork and replacing my dryer vent system for $1100. I paid for an air scrubber system, it no longer works and they will not give me back my money for it. Taking advantage of widow is pretty low.
