Back in April, our AC got crushed with an ice chunk Easter morning. Opies comes out, says whole new system including condenser coil for $9700 or $15600 or so if we get a new 80K BTU furnace too. The adjuster says the condenser coil is fine as it handles the newer refrigerant. Opies comes back with $6300, mind you I know a new 14 SEER heat pump is $2K, condenser coil is $800 and if I added a new furnace it'd be $5-$6K total meaning $10K in labor for a few hours of work GTFOH! I asked for an invoice and it broke down NOTHING! I ask for an explanation and get the run around even though Opie had my number as I handle this on my moms behalf, for almost 20yrs. Precise Heating actually cares about its potential customers and broke down everything for me! Opies even had the gall to charge its $70 fee even though competition came out for free. Adjuster found Air-Maxx would bid $5300 but I did my homework so ordered the replacement on HVACdirect.com for $2K and paid Gilk Plumbing to hook it up so in for $2700 total. $4,000 cheaper than Opie's! We spent over $20K over the years and got a basic "thank you" in an email when we cancelled the maintenance plan too! If money is no object and insurance covers it then use them but if you care about money, good customer service, I'd look elsewhere as Precise is way better and we didn't use them, Gilk Plumbing I can't recommend enough on their great service.
