I needed a standard kitchen faucet installed. They came out with two plumbers who looked at the faucet and asked what else I might want done if the price were right. We we walked around and showed them a few other minor problems that we didn't urgently need fixed or changed. They went out to the car to consult and come up with a price. It took them 20 minutes to come back with the estimate. Bottom line: $578 dollars for installing a CUSTOMER SUPPLIED faucet. Or $1500 dollars if they supplied the faucet. This absolutely did not include any of the other work. This was the "stripped down price." I told them "Please leave." They say they charge $60 just for coming out, but I was assured that would be applied to the cost of any work that was done. Of course after a bad faith estimate of $578, I did not use them so I may get a bill for $60. This could be a buisness model all its own: charge $60 to come out and give estimates that only an idiot would accept. I immediately went to Lowes and found out that faucets cost about $50 and installation through Lowes is a flat $99. This work was just done and took about 15 minutes, the same amount of time that two Sullivan plumbers spent sitting in a car writing up an "estimate." BEWARE!!!!
