I called Dwyer to come out and give me an estimate on replacing my tankless water heater. It was in warranty and all I needed was an estimate on cost to install the replacement parts. They quoted me $79 on the phone. The guy shows up late and charges me $220 for the estimate to document what parts needed to be replaced. I asked for the quote and he said he would call me back after he receives the part. Apparently warranties require the part to be sent to a certified contractor. So my parts are sent to Dwyer. I called twice because no one has reached out to me. I've been without HOT WATER for almost a week now. Today I get a call back and the supervisor tells me that it will cost me $850 plus tax and fees. So total cost for replacement of free parts = the cost of the unit. They must think I'm stupid. I have never had someone charge me for an estimate much less try to price gouge me! I feel it's because I'm a woman. The supervisor didn't care whether or not I have hot water. He made it clear that if I don't want their service and pay their cost then they will send my part back and I can start the process over with someone else. DO NOT USE THESE WORTHLESS PEOPLE WHO DON'T GIVE A $@!#% ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!!!
