We were looking for a window treatment for an odd shaped window. Our salesman was great, showing us their line of custom built shutters. We also requested a quote on a Vignette Vertiglide for our patio door. Even though Danmer was higher than our local Hunter Douglas distributor, they met their price. We ordered both items and were given an install date. A few days later, we were sent two designs for the shutters and chose one. A week later, we were called to set up an install date. I asked if this was in lieu of the previous one and was told "yes". We changed it on our calendar. A couple of days before our original install date, we received a confirmation call. We had scheduled other appointments since it had been change, but moved them a bit so we could be here. We confirmed that this was for BOTH items. When the installer arrived, he had only one item...the shutters, which were NOT to the design we had approved. However, they were installed and we were told he would be back in two days to install the Vertiglide. What a waste of our time, his time, and gas since he had to drive several hours each time to get here. We sent our rep photos of the shutters and the design we HAD approved, to no avail. The Vertiglide had been cut to only 2" extension over the patio door on each side and stacked over a fourth of the door. We were told the door would be remeasured and a new shade made. We waited to hear when this would occur. When we finally texted back, we were "told" it was already ordered and they regional manager had decided the size for us.
I would not use them for any product made by another company, e.g. Hunter Douglas. Your local rep will have better pricing and be much easier to work with.
The quality of their Ultraluxe shutters is good. However, I'm not sure the frustration of working with them is worth it. If you want them to make all the decisions for you...go for it.
