Before I talk about my frustrations with the installation, I would like to say that my new shutters are beautiful. We used to have wooden shutters and they didn't have great insulation so our house would get a little drafty during the colder months, but these new shutters from Danmer Custom Shutters are wonderful. They've kept our house warm and they look amazing.

Unfortunately when they installed the shutters, they installed them too close to the windowsills, so now we have to tape them down otherwise they flop open, especially the ones in the kitchen. They also installed magnets on the top and bottom of the shutters and it's a hassle to deal with. The installers told me after the installation that they should have just put one magnet on the tops of our shutters and that "no windowsill is perfect."

We paid a lot of money to get the windowsills re sanded and painted before we got our shutters installed, and now they aren't as nice because the shutters sit on top of them. I would recommend Danmer Custom Shutters because of their product and the wonderful insulation of our shutters, but if you hire them, make sure they install them properly in a way that makes sense to your home so you don't have to tape them down or that they open on their own.
